Friday, October 11

  8:00 a.m.  Breakfast – French toast, sausage, juice, coffee & BYOTS

  9:30 a.m.  Line up to caravan to tours

10:00 a.m.  Tour Schutt Sport Mfg – sports helmets

  Caravan to Centralia for lunch, Dutch treat

  Caravan to oil museum

  5:30 p.m.  Sunday Dinner – BYOTS, drink & dish to share

  7:00 p.m.  Business Meetings

 

Saturday, October 12

  8:00 a.m.  Breakfast – “Current River” breakfast, juice, coffee & BYOTS

  9:30 a.m.  Line up to caravan to Ingram Pioneer Log Cabin Village, Kinmundy, IL

                     This is a craft/demo day and special flea market.  Admission $4, open 10-5, stay as long as you wish

  Lunch on your own

  5:30 p.m.  Dinner – Ham, green beans & potatoes & BYOTS, drink & dish to share

  7:00 p.m.  Joint Installation of 2014 Officers, followed by punch & cookies

 

Sunday, October 13

  8:00 a.m.  Continental Breakfast

  9:00 a.m.  Church Service

  Lunch on your own or potluck leftovers

  Move to Carlyle Lake campground

  2:00 p.m.  Make fleece blankets for Gillette, WY International

  5:00 p.m.  Camp Fire Dinner – Hot dogs, baked beans, chips, smores & BYOTS & drink

  7:00 p.m.  Games

 

Monday, October 14

  8:00 a.m.  Breakfast on your own

  9:00 a.m.  Line up to caravan to Centralia, IL

  9:30 a.m.  Tour Country Bob’s BBQ Sauce facility

  Rally ends at the conclusion of the tour.  Hope you had fun, fellowship & adventure.  See you down the road!

SALEM RALLY

Our next rally is the October Joint Rally with Southern Illinois Unit, which begins Thursday, October 10, 2013, at the Marion County Fairgrounds in Salem, Illinois.  The campsites have water and electric, with a dump station on site, for $20 a night.  We have a building reserved for our use.

The rally theme is “Show Your Team Spirit.”  Please bring team spirit items to decorate tables, i.e. team pennants, memorabilia, yearbooks, sports/band letters.  You may use school, business or favorite brands, as the team you support. 

Two tours are planned for Friday, October 11, 2013, so you will need to arrive on Thursday, October 10.  First tour is 10:00 a.m. at Schutt Sports Mfg (sports helmets) in Salem, IL.  The second tour is in the afternoon, at an oil museum in Centralia, IL.  Oil was first discovered in the State of Illinois in the Centralia area.

On Saturday morning, we will caravan to the Ingram Pioneer Log Cabin Village in Kinmundy, IL.   There will be varied craft demonstrations in the cabins, along with a special flea market.  Admission is $4.  After dinner on Saturday, will be the joint installation of the 2014 officers, conducted by Monte Barksdale, Region 5 1^st Vice President.

After lunch on Sunday, we will pack up and move to a campground at Carlyle Lake for the remainder of the rally, as another group has reservations at the fairgrounds.  As of this writing, we have not yet decided which campground we will be using at Carlyle Lake—we will advise you later.  After everyone is settled in at Carlyle Lake, we will work on fleece blankets, which will be taken to the Gillette, WY International next summer.  Bring your own fleece, for whatever size blanket(s) you wish to make, and your scissors.

After breakfast on Monday, we will caravan to Centralia (leave trailers/motorhomes at the campground) for a tour of Country Bob’s BBQ Sauce facility.  The rally ends at the conclusion of the tour.
